Murder mystery tea parties

Someone contacted me a day or two ago about murder mystery tea parties. I will be doing some of those with my other teas so if interested learning more let me know. There are two right now that I can do for small or large groups titled The Decadent Housewives of Hysteria Lane or Who's missing from the Class Reunion? If large group would prefer you preparing the teas and food and I would provide the loose tea for you to prepare. If groups of 6-10 I can provide tea and food.

2 new books

I just received two new books I ordered. Yes, tea books! One is Celtic teas with friends and the other is Taking time for tea.
The idea for a March tea in the Celtic teas with friends is St. Paddy's Day tea. Suggestion for invitation. When Irish hearts are happy all the world seems bright and gay. There'll be a tear in my eye and I'll be wondering why if you don't join me for a mighty craic and a cup of tay on St. Paddy's Day. Wear something green and tell an Irish joke or limerick.

Recipe. Chocolate Irish cream cake-
Preheat 300 degrees. Grease, line and flour 9 inch cake pan with wax paper. Cream together butter and sugar. Add eggs, one at time, beating well. Sft together flour, hot chocolate mix and cocoa into butter mix. Add vanilla and Irish cream liqueur. Blend with mixer. Add milk and blend until soft and smooth. Pour into pan. Bake 60-90 minutes.

1 cup butter
1 cup sugar
4 eggs
1 cup flour
1/2 cup hot chocolate mix
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 cup milk
3 tablespoons Irish cream liqueur

Filling
1/2 cup butter Beat all ingredients at high speed until fluffy. Split cake in half
2 cups confectioners sugar. And fill between layers
3 tablespoon Irish crime liqueur

Icing
6 oz. unsweetened chocolate. Melt chocolates in cream over low heat. Stir till smooth.
6 oz semisweet chocolate. Spread over top of cake and allow to drizzle down side.
1/2 cup cream Top with nuts if desired.

Enjoy with Ginger Orange Green Tea

My Tea Around the World talk

It was a great Christmas tea at the Gillispie Center last weekend.  It even started snowing.  God is good.  It was fun to talk with women about tea as my passion these days is educating others on tea.  I wish I could have given them a sample of a tea that is prepared in Kenya but just not enough time.  I was blessed to have been part of this Christmas tea and pray the women enjoyed the talk as much as I did preparing it.   Now on to preparing for a tea at assisted living in December and one at my home.
Check out my website when you have time.  www.trinitea4Eternitea.yolasite.com
Enjoy your cup of tea!

Fall Teas

We are working on our fall teas for October and November 2011 and will be serving two teas.  We are serving Pecan Pastry and Pumpkin Spice.  Pecan Pastry is a green tea with a nutty character that tends sweet.  Delicious lingering pecan profile that beckons you back for more!
Pumpkin Spice is a black tea with notes of cinnamon and pumpkin abound.  Cup is like the 'nip' in the air during northern autumns.
We are working on a pumpkin scone recipe that we hope to serve along with the teas.  We may also have a new game we will be playing if we get in time for the October teas.  It is called ChaI-Q international tea game.  We have some exciting new things we will be doing for the fall teas.  Look forward to meeting more new friends over tea this month and next.
If you would like to schedule a tea please contact us at tea4Jesus@gmail.com.  Always love to share a cup or two of tea with new friends!
Have a blessed fall!

Tea event

What a blessing today was.  We met again with some women from the Prior Lake assisted living home.  It was fun to see faces from our last tea and some new faces.  We even met a celebrity!  She was Nurse Carmen that was on WCCO TV a few years ago.  She was a sweet woman.  We did not hear from her she was a celebrity but from a couple of other women there.  All enjoyed our Raspberry green tea with some raspberry jam.  We also served a southern tea punch which was black tea with frozen pineapple and grape juice and some sugar.  It was a hit!  We will be doing that one again.
We have been asked to be put on their calendar for two teas next year!  I am grateful and thankful to be able to do two teas next year for them.
Here is the recipe for the Southern Tea Punch we served today.
2 quarts brewed tea ( Orange Pekoe)
1 1/2 cups sugar
12 oz of Pineapple Juice
12 oz of Grape Juice
Stir together the tea, sugar and juices  Pour into gallon container and add enough water to make one gallon.Refrigerate and serve over ice.  Garnish with sprig of mint if desired.  Enjoy!

God's blessing!

Tea at assisted livings

We have two teas this month.  We just had one last Tuesday and it was so much fun meeting 10 new women over tea.  They so enjoyed themselves and so did we!  We even had a woman who said she did not like tea and by end of tea she had tried two and decided the black tea was good!  I was excited to see her enjoy tea.
I shared one of my prayer pillows I made for one of the Tea Bingo prizes and the woman who won it just loved it.  You could tell she was somebody who prayed.  It was so much joy to have her receive this prayer pillow.  It was a blessing to her and to me.
God was present and it was another blessed tea at the assisted living in Hugo, MN.
We are off to another tea after church tomorrow in Prior Lake.  We were there this past February and excited to see some of the women again and meet some new.  Praying God will show his presence there with all of us.  Pray we can touch the women there with tea and God's word.
Thanks for praying.  Share a cup of tea with somebody new this week!

January is National Hot Tea MOnth!

New York, NY, January 1, 2009 - January is National Hot Tea Month and is also the height of the dreaded “cold and flu season”. The CDC estimates that there will be more than 200,000 Americans affected by the cold and flu this year, which leads to missing work, school and even social gatherings. So what can one do to avoid the cold and flu?

The CDC strongly recommends an annual flu vaccine as the best way to reduce the chances that you will get the flu. In addition, drinking hot tea may also help you stay healthy during the cold and flu season.

Published research from Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard University indicates that theanine, an ingredient found naturally in tea, supports the immune system. A cup of tea contains an average of 20- 25 mg of theanine. Drinking tea throughout the day may strengthen the immune system which is something important to do during the cold and flu season.

Drinking five cups of Black Tea a day for two to four weeks boosted the body’s immune defense system by four times, according to the results of a human clinical trial. According to this study, the data suggests that drinking Black Tea boost’s the body’s natural resistance to infection.1

Tea also contains flavonoids, which are naturally occurring compounds known for their antioxidant properties. Antioxidants work to neutralize free radicals, which scientists believe damage elements in the body, such as genetic material and lipids, and contribute to many chronic diseases.

The CDC states that healthy adults have a 30% chance of contracting the flu even with an annual flu vaccination, and the vaccine may be somewhat less effective for children and the elderly. And while drinking tea may not keep you from getting sick this season, it can help your odds of staying healthy.

So why not do something good for your body while having a hot beverage…help stay healthy this cold and flu season and drink your tea every day! For more information about the role of tea in a healthy diet and lifestyle, please visit www.TeaUSA.org.

Thanksgiving week -Tea in Texas

It was just wonderful the week of Thanksgiving.  We had 3 days of preparing tea for assisted living homes and group homes.  It was so wonderful to meet all the people we met over tea.  Ech one that we met touched our lives. They were so happy and excited to share a cup of tea with us along with a devotion and Tea Bingo.  We were truly blessed to have met everyone.  I think and pray for them each day.  They were all such beautiful people.
Each day we had two events.  It was so much fun to travel to each one.  God so knew who we were to meet.  God showed us the wonderful qualities in each person.
Met a woman who did not like tea but decided she did after she tried it and learned more about the tea benefits.  Met another woman who liked our heart shaped teacup so much that she purchased one.
I thank God for giving me the opportunity to share tea with those we met in Texas.  He was present at each one.
I received a phone call from Linda after we had tea at their group home and said that their residents enjoyed the tea and time together and felt Jesus' presence  After I received that call it brought tears to my eyes as I could hear God speaking to me and saying, " Continue on this journey I have you on.  Stay strong and spread My Word.  "
If God willing I am praying that we will be able to do some teas in February in Texas.  We have a Christmas tea in December along with doing a tea tasting at a home and an event in Delano for this coming Saturday.
Pray that God will bring us people who enjoy tea as much as I do.
I thank my daughter and my husband for helping me as I could not have done it without them.
My life continues to see the many wonderful people God has created.  I enjoy having tea with new people.
Blessings for your Monday.
Check out our teas at www.tealightfultreasures.net/tea  Tea makes great Christmas presents- stocking stuffers!
When you are pressed for time, you can do tea. When you want to create a splendid event, you can do tea.  When your budget is tight , you can do tea. When the sky is the limit, you can do tea. Even if you can't cook, you can do tea!
Let us know if you would like us to  come to your assisted living or group home or private home for a tea, devotion and Tea Bingo. Love to meet  you!
