Party for a shut-in

A special treat for someone who's feeling "blah", sweeten herbal tea with fruit preserves. 
Suggestions for tea sandwiches- cream cheese blended with orange marmalade,   salmon spread,  egg salad. 
Some traditional favorite teas for colds and sore throats are horehound, mint, lemon balm and sage.  For nausea or cramps, peppermint. For digestive calm, anise, fennel and lemon verbena.

Tea at assisted livings

We have two teas this month.  We just had one last Tuesday and it was so much fun meeting 10 new women over tea.  They so enjoyed themselves and so did we!  We even had a woman who said she did not like tea and by end of tea she had tried two and decided the black tea was good!  I was excited to see her enjoy tea. 
I shared one of my prayer pillows I made for one of the Tea Bingo prizes and the woman who won it just loved it.  You could tell she was somebody who prayed.  It was so much joy to have her receive this prayer pillow.  It was a blessing to her and to me.
God was present and it was another blessed tea at the assisted living in Hugo, MN.
We are off to another tea after church tomorrow in Prior Lake.  We were there this past February and excited to see some of the women again and meet some new.  Praying God will show his presence there with all of us.  Pray we can touch the women there with tea and God's word.

Tea allows us to enjoy the calm of fellowship, the exchange of communication, and the beauty of taking time for people.  Teacups themsleves bring something unique and lovely to our time with others.  Offer people the chance to choose a teacup from your collection when you host a tea party.  When you do that it allows for the conversation to begin.  As a teacup is chosen and the warm delicious beverage is poured into that cup, the heart softens and becomes eager to share. 
Tea is a way to be together, even if the words or the relationship is not there.  Maybe it is a new relationship or a relationship that has experienced some wear and tear over the years.  Tea allows you to be in the same space together and to take in the moment at the same time.
Most of all , tea forges deeper friendships- with neighbors, strangers, family members, old friends and new. 

Traveling Tea with Jesus prays that we will meet some day over tea.  Blessings and enjoy that cup of tea with friends and Jesus.
